Rev. Laura Shennum currently serves as a Chaplain Resident at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. She provides pastoral care to patients and families in the Pediatric ICU and Adult Cancer Center.

Previously, Rev. Laura served 9 years as the Settled Minister of Cascade Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Wenatchee, WA. She has also served as Intern Minister at the Unitarian Church of Lincoln, NE and Director of Religious Education at Second Unitarian Universalist Church of Omaha, NE.

Rev. Laura has been a member and co-chair of the Pacific Northwest Healthy Congregations Team. She has served her colleagues as a UUMA Good Officer in the Pacific Northwest. She currently serves on the UUMA Good Officer Coordinating Team. She has also mentored colleagues who are newly fellowshipped. 

Rev. Laura currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, which is where her heart feels most at home. She lives with her husband, Don and their youngest daughter, Bree. She has two other children, Sie, who currently lives in WA and Conor, who attends UC-Berkeley. The family also has a sweet pup named Toby, and a grumpy old cat named Simon.
